I’ll go first…
For me, I’d say motivate, but I think I’ve realised it’s because I’ve slowly learned (over years of perfectionism) how to set goals that are ‘grace-filled’. As I’ve self-reflected and become more aware of my perfectionist tendencies, I’ve learned how to set myself up to not feel overwhelmed. A big thing for me is making my goals somewhat broad and vague - I usually focus on things that are more internal and can’t be measured by a checklist. Vision boards have helped me so much with this - I only ever really include things I want to do more of or traits I want to grow in. I also think inviting God into the goal-setting space has helped so much - asking God to take the wheel completely and guide me in His plan for me - in His strength, not my own. Reframing my mindset on what a year’s ‘success’ looks like has also been really helpful - reminding myself that success isn’t completing each of my own desires, but continuing to grow in God’s plan for my life.
